He was the beloved husband of Rosemary (Headly) Crompton, with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Robert was the son of the late Jack and Edith (Hall) Crompton.
Robert was a graduate of New Bedford Regional Vocational High School and went on to earn his Bachelor’s Degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University (SMU). He devoted 35 years of his life to educating students as a school teacher in the New Bedford Public Schools, a career he took great pride in and through which he touched countless lives.
In his free time, Robert enjoyed relaxing at the beach, swimming in his pool, dancing with his wife, and traveling together to Florida. Above all, family was the center of his life, and he treasured the special moments and memories shared with those he loved.
In addition to his wife, Rosemary, he is survived by his loving children, Amy Silva and her boyfriend Kevin of Somerset, and Roslyn Thatcher and her husband Todd of Dartmouth; his cherished grandchildren, Ryley, Erin, Drew and Jake.
