Born in Dartmouth, she was a lifelong area resident. Rose was the daughter of the late Matilda (Freitas) Garcia and step daughter of the late Benjamin Garcia.
Rose was a homemaker for her cherished family. She was an avid hockey mom and grandmother who spent many hours in the rink. She loved attending grandchildren and great grandchildren’s sporting events and activities. She enjoyed bowling, Bingo, playing the lottery and dancing at Lincoln Park. You could often find her sitting on her deck soaking up the sun keeping an eye on her neighborhood. She was an amazing cook well known for her kale soup, mashed potatoes and Friday night fish and chips. Honesty was her policy and her opinion was always expected, like it or not and we loved her for it.
She is survived by her loving children, Darleen Martin and her partner Mario Castanha of N. Dartmouth, Gerald Bramwell and his wife Karen of Tiverton, RI; two grandchildren, Danielle Aguiar and her husband John of Westport, and Dereck Martin and his wife Tara of Dartmouth; five great-grandchildren, Tabor Martin, Dakotah Afonso, Jaclyn Martin, Morgan Aguiar and Jake Aguiar; survived by eight siblings, Brenda Morris and her husband Wayne of New Bedford, Joe Garcia and his wife Liz of Dartmouth, Joyce Aguiar and her husband Chris of Dartmouth, Alan Garcia and his partner Celina Maynard of Dartmouth, Dennis Garcia and his partner Linda Westergard of New Bedford, Tony Mello and his partner Patricia Goslin of Dartmouth, Tillie Lopes of New Bedford, and Richie Reiniche of Westport. She was the sister of the late Mickey Mello and Joanna Gonsalves.
She had many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the greatest wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend, who will be deeply missed.
