

She was the beloved wife of Robert Crompton, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage. Rosemary was the devoted daughter of the late Ted and Lillian (Mainville) Markowski.
Rosemary was a graduate of Apponequet High School and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree from Southeastern Massachusetts University in Dartmouth. She worked for many years as an accountant for various banks, as well as for the Veterans Transition House and the City of New Bedford’s Veteran Benefits Department, where her dedication reflected her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Family was at the heart of Rosemary’s life. She especially cherished time spent babysitting her loving grandchildren. She also found joy in walking with her friends, crocheting, spending time at the beach, traveling, and tending to her garden. She loved going to the opera in New York with her Aunt Vi.
Rosemary will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her loving children, Amy Silva and her boyfriend Kevin, and Roslyn Thatcher and her husband Todd; her cherished grandchildren, Ryley and Erin, and Drew and Jake; her sisters, Lisa Kuczarski and her husband Don, and Carol McCannon and her husband Michael; her nephews, John and Jared; and her best friends of many years, Susan Barrett and Gerry Perry-Lopes of Dartmouth.
