

Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Manuel and Margaret (Mello) Marshall, she was a lifelong resident of New Bedford and attended New Bedford High School.
Mrs. Mello was the co-owner of the former restaurants, J&J Melo’s Lunch and Craig’s Place both on Brock Avenue, CJ’s Galley on Cove Road and the Parkwood House on Acushnet Avenue all in New Bedford. She enjoyed cooking and was a wonderful cook. Most of all, Sheila loved spending time with her family whom she adored.
She is survived by her children, Dr. Curtis J. Mello and his wife Patricia of Tiverton, Craig A. Mello and his wife Doreen of Dartmouth and Register of Deeds Sherrilynn M. Mello of New Bedford; seven grandchildren, Kraig Mello, Cory Mello, Randilynn Costa, Chad Mello, Eileen Mello, Michael Mello and Michaela Mello; three great-grandchildren, Kenadie, Brody and Norah Mello; and her late canine companion Fannie.
Family and friends are invited to attend visitation on Friday, January 7, 2022 from 9-10:30am in the Waring-Sullivan Home at Dartmouth, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth followed by a Funeral Mass at 11am in Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, Rivet St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery.
