Suzanne C. Sylvia

Suzanne C. (Perreault) Sylvia, 83, of Dartmouth, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at St. Luke’s Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Atty. Edward J. Sylvia Jr. with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.

Born in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late Raymond A. and Barbara V. (Reca) Perreault.

Suzanne earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Music from the University of Massachusetts Lowell, received her Teaching Degree from Bridgewater State University, and was the Music Supervisor for the Dartmouth School Department.

Suzanne married the love of her life, raised her children, and delighted in spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed skiing, running, gardening, cooking, swimming, playing her piano, and beachgoing to Round Hill Beach with her sister Claire, children, and nephews. Suzanne was happiest when spending time with family and friends at her ski home in Stowe, Vermont. She will be greatly missed by her family and many others.

In addition to her loving husband, Edward, she is survived by her children, Douglas E. Sylvia, Esq. and his wife Donna of Dartmouth, David P. Sylvia and his wife Christine of Dartmouth, and Danielle S. Cabral, Esq. and her husband Michael of Acushnet; her grandchildren, Douglas E. Sylvia Jr., Michael D. Sylvia, Eric J. Sylvia, Alec D. Sylvia, Caroline C. Sylvia, Michelle S. Cabral, Julia D. Cabral, Sarah N. Cabral, Michael J. Cabral Jr., and Kevin A. Cabral; her great-grandchildren, Luke T. Sylvia, Charlie M. Sylvia, Emberly A. Cabral, Loxley D. Cabral, Kaiden A. Cabral, and Marlee C. Cabral, and her brother, Leonard P. Perreault. She was the sister of the late Claire A. Weeks.

Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at 9:00AM from the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT DARTMOUTH, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00AM in St. Mary’s Church, 795 Dartmouth St., Dartmouth. Burial in St. John’s Cemetery. Her visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 from 4:00 – 7:00PM in the WARING-SULLIVAN HOME AT DARTMOUTH, 230 Russells Mills Rd., Dartmouth, MA 02748.
