Armand was born in New Bedford and raised in Acushnet, the son of the late Armand W. and Lucille (Noiseux) Boucher. He lived in Acushnet until he met his loving wife Ida. They settled in Fairhaven where they raised their son and daughter and remained until they moved to Cape Cod in 1976.
Armand was a US Army veteran, called to active duty from the reserves during the Berlin and Cuban Missile Crises.
He was manager of stores for ComElectric and for many years managed the Cape & Islands before his retirement in 1993. Soon after his retirement, he worked part-time for the US Postal Service as a rural carrier.
Armand was very active in the community, he was a volunteer of many years with the Dennis Police Department and over 4,000 hours of service with the Dennis Senior Center and Council on Aging. He offered his time and support to Christ the King Thrift Shop in Cotuit for 27 years. Armand was also a member and past Treasurer of the Knights of Columbus Council 7312 in West Harwich.
Armand is predeceased by his brother Roger Boucher. In addition to his beloved wife Ida, Armand is survived by his son Michael A. (Marianne) Boucher of Dartmouth, his daughter Suzanne L. (Peter) Baker of South Dennis, his adored granddaughter Brittany Boucher of Dartmouth and his sisters Louise (Andre) Benoit of Acushnet and Suzanne Fawcett of New Bedford. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, April 2nd from 9-11 AM at Doane, Beal & Ames, 729 Route 134 in South Dennis followed by an 11:30 AM Funeral at Holy Trinity Church 246 Main St. (Rt. 28) in West Harwich. Burial with military honors will take place at Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
