Cal was born in Boston, Massachusetts, on October 9, 1955, to Curt and Flora Livingston. He was the eldest brother to David and Peter. The family hails from Cape Cod, specifically Dennisport, Massachusetts. Cal was an exceptionally kind individual who touched the hearts of everyone he encountered. Despite facing developmental challenges, he successfully graduated from Dennis-Yarmouth Regional High School, obtained a driver's license, and held various local positions. Cal was fortunate to perceive the world with a childlike wonder. He had a fondness for hamburgers and chocolate shakes. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing chess, entertained the idea of becoming an accountant, counted cars, and cherished vacations at their family-built home in Maine. As he grew older, Cal required more assistance and was thankfully engaged and cared for by the dedicated staff at Cape Abilities. He resided in their group homes for many years and spent his final days in Yarmouthport, MA. We are deeply grateful and indebted to the care provided by the professional and compassionate staff at Gordon Lane, Broad Reach Hospice, the Massachusetts Department of Social Services, and his primary care physician, Dr. Herwig, for their exceptional care.
Cal was preceded in death by his beloved father, Curt A. Livingston, and his mother, Flora Livingston (Lane). He is survived by his two admired brothers, David and Peter, Peter's wife Lisa, and his many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be privately held for the family at Swan Lake Cemetery. Contributions to Cape Abilities are appreciated in lieu of flowers.
