Born in Long Island City, NY on October 13, 1931, he was the son of the late Joseph and Vincenza Morena. James retired from Chesebrough Ponds as a Director of Financial Services after a 30-year career. He earned his bachelor’s degree from St John’s
University and his master’s from NYU. James served in the Korean War as a communication specialist in the US Navy.
James is survived by Concetta, his loving wife of 60 years, his daughter Teresa Boya and her husband Mark, his son James Morena and his wife Patricia, and his daughter Susan Tilton and her husband Paul. He had eight grandchildren of whom he was very proud; Michael Boya and his wife Sophie and great grandchild Everly, Kevin Boya and his fiancée Emily; Elizabeth, Julia, and Sophia Morena; and Molly, Zeb, and Emma Tilton. James is survived by his brother Anthony, his brother-law Albert and sisters in-law Marie, Fran and Robin. He is predeceased by his brother Al, brothers-in-law Anthony and Noble and sisters-in-law Phyllis and Anna. James has a large extended family and an abundant group of close friends with whom he shared many wonderful times.
After moving to Cape Cod, James enjoyed his retirement traveling with his wife, spending time with his children and grandchildren and could always be found on the greens at the Dennis Golf Courses.
Calling hours will be from 3 to 8 PM Wednesday, January 2nd at Doane Beal & Ames of South Dennis. A Catholic Mass will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, January 3rd at St Pius X Parish, South Yarmouth, followed by burial services at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in South Dennis. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in James’ memory to St. Vincent de Paul Society, Visiting Nurse Association of Cape Cod – Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
