

Joseph F. McClearn, 72, Of Dennis, formerly of Stoneham passed away on February 16, 2010. Joseph was a US Postal Service letter carrier for 30 years in Stoneham, before retiring to Cape Cod. He was a WWII military and aviation historian, and a great fan of the Red Sox. As a young man growing up in Charlestown, Joseph learned the trades of carpentry and drafting. He was signed to play Minor League Baseball with the St. Louis Cardinals.
Joseph was the loving husband of Sandra E. (Jackson) McClearn for 51 years. Beloved father of Elizabeth Clairmont and Karen Whitehead both of Boxborough, Lisa Vitello of Nashua, NH and Joseph F. McClearn, Jr. of Washington, DC. Son of the late Patrick J. and Charlotta F. McClearn. He was the grandfather of Amanda and Marissa Clairmont and Alexa and Joshua Whitehead, all of Boxborough. Brother of Maureen T. O'Brien and Lillian A. d'Entremont both of Centerville, Kathleen M. Mathews of Stoneham and Dennis, Frances C. Clifford of Burlington and Centerville, Eileen E. Pucillo of Nashua, NH, Rosemary E. Lombard of Winter Springs, FL, John J. of Sierra Vista, AZ, Thomas P. of Centerville, William H. of Norwell and Centerville and James E. of Hampstead, NH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Cape Parish, Brewster, MA on Saturday, February 20th at 11:00am. Visiting Hours will be held at the Doane, Beal, & Ames Funeral Home, 729 Route 134 SOUTH DENNIS, MA, from 4-8pm on Friday, February 19th.
