The family of Lin Mary Clancy, 25 is so very sad to announce her unexpected passing at her home on April 12th. Born on October 16, 2000 in Jiangxi Province China, Linny came home to her parents Mark and Katie Clancy in December 2001—the best Christmas present ever. Linny graduated in 2019 from DYRHS and from UMass Boston in 2023. She found joy in creating art, as evidenced by her beautiful photographs of the natural beauty of Cape Cod. She excelled at virtually any sport she tried, performing at the top of her sport in gymnastics, as an all-star runner for the Dennis-Yarmouth regional high school cross country and track teams, scoring a casual hole in one while golfing with her dad at Dennis Pines, and excelled at CrossFit workouts with her mom. She loved her dogs so much, snuggling daily with Ginny and Thomas, but especially with Weezie, who was her constant companion. Her family takes comfort in knowing that she is now reunited with her precious Boo dog, whom she missed so much. Her laugh, from devilish giggle to boisterous guffaw, was infectious. She will be remembered for her earnest spirit, ridiculous sense of humor, supply of random facts about anything from cars to pop culture, and for never forgetting your birthday. Linny is survived by her parents, Mark and Katie Clancy, her sisters Margaret, Caroline, and Ellen Clancy, her grandmothers Dolores Ahern and Jacky Clancy, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Linny was predeceased by her grandfathers Bob Clancy (aka Pop) and Dave Ahern (aka Bup). In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the DYRHS track and cross country program. A wake will be held on May 1st from 4-7 p.m. at Doane, Beal & Ames Funeral Home in South Dennis and a memorial service on May 2nd at 11:00 a.m. at Dennis Union Church.
