Peter Arnold Nickerson

Peter Arnold Nickerson of Cranston RI, East Providence RI, and South Dennis, MA died of natural causes in his home in Orlando, Florida on May 9 at the age of 81. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Priscilla Kerkhoff Nickerson. He is predeceased by his parents, Arnold M. Nickerson and Florence E. Richardson Nickerson as well as his brother, Richard E. Nickerson.

Peter was a 1953 graduate of Cranston High School of Cranston, RI and earned a bachelor’s degree at Colby College, Waterville, ME in 1957. He served in the United States Army following college.

He also leaves behind his four children: Karen Purcell of South Dennis, MA; Gregg Nickerson of North Attleboro, MA; Kristin McNeill of Edmonds, WA; Kelly Darling of Milton, MA. He was the proud grandparent of two granddaughters and seven grandsons.

A wake will be held from 4-8 P.M. on June 2, 2017 at the Doane Beal & Ames Funeral Home on Route 134 in South Dennis, MA. A memorial service is planned for June 3 at 2:00 at the South Dennis Congregational Church in South Dennis, MA. This will be followed by an onsite burial.
