Richard J. Kennelly

Richard was born in Grafton, Mass., to Cora and George W. Kennelly. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Joan Whitney Kennelly. He also leaves two sons, Jay S. Kennelly and his wife Beth of South Dennis and Todd P. Kennelly of Yarmouthport. Richard had four grandchildren; Amanda, Derek, Tyler and Paige and two great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Ramon B. Kennelly of Palm Bay, Fla., and was predeceased by his three brothers George, Robert and John. He also had many nieces and nephews.

Richard served with the U.S. Marines in the Pacific in World War II. He became a pilot and went to work for Northeast Airlines in 1951. After a merger with Delta Airlines, he was based in Miami until his retirement in 1983. He was a member of the Northside United Methodist Church in Brewster.

A memorial service has been planned for Saturday, November 6, 2010, at 11 a.m. at the Northside United Methodist Church, 701 Airline Road, Brewster, MA 02631.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Richard's name to the Northside United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund or to the VNA Association of Cape Cod — Hospice, 434 Route 134, Suite D3, South Dennis, MA 02660.
