Tom (known to close friends and family as “T.P.”) was born to the late Thomas F. and Georgiana Waldron on August 28, 1926 in Northampton, MA. His childhood was spent in Gloucester, MA where he developed a love of sailing and the sea. He graduated from Oxford High School, enlisted in the Navy, attended Tufts University, Dartmouth, and MIT on the GI Bill, and graduated from MIT with a double degree in Electrical Engineering and Business. After graduation Tom married Evelyn (“Lyn”) Dias, and remained devoted to her until his death. Tom and Lyn settled in Connecticut, where Tom had a 35 year career with General Electric.
They raised five daughters. After Tom retired, they enjoyed many years of sailing and worldwide travel. Eventually Tom and Lyn moved to Brewster, MA, where Tom spent hours tending his garden. Tom was a kind and gentle soul who loved to laugh and spend time with family. Some of his most cherished times were spent on Wells Beach, ME, where the entire extended Waldron clan gathered each summer to enjoy the ocean, lobster bakes on the beach, card playing, and much laughter.
Tom is survived by his wife Lyn, of Buzzards Bay MA; daughters Jayne, of Santa Fe NM; Sara, of Chester NJ; Martha, of Seattle WA; Molly, of Stanton NJ; his sister Nancy, of Dennis MA; fifteen grandchildren, five great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter Melissa, and his brothers James and Robert. Per Tom’s request, a small service with his immediate family was held in his honor.
