William (Billy) Dyer passed away on Sunday August 18,2013. Bill was a man of few words. His smile was warm and he had a twinkle in his eye. He was always ready to help when you needed a hand. Though he was a quiet man you knew he was listening. He enjoyed his moments with his grandchildren and more recently with his great grandchildren.

After the war he returned to Wellfleet and pursued his lifetime occupation of carpentry. He was an EMT on the Wellfleet Fire and Rescue Department, from 1949-1981, in later years serving as Deputy Chief.
His passions were fishing, boating, dancing with his wife, and winters in Florida. His love of baseball games and Westerns will never be forgotten.
Preceding him in death was his wife of 57 years, Fannie Souza Dyer. He is survived by two daughters: Donna and her husband Ed Pratt, and Jane and her husband Russ Bassett, four grandchildren: Russ Jr., Randy, and Jessica Bassett, and Courtney (Pratt) Dalke. Dad was blessed with 4 great grandchildren :Brody, Braxton, Zoey, and Joshua Bassett, who were a great delight to him.
