She was born in Philadelphia on March 24, 1937, to Edward and Marguerite Diamond. Anne grew up in Philadelphia, the 20th of 21 children in her Irish Catholic family. In high school, she worked at the A & P Supermarket with her sister Pat where she met her future husband, Andrew Gadaleta. Almost instantly he fell in love with her. They were engaged and later married on May 4, 1957, when they were both twenty years old.
Anne and Andrew soon had a home in Mayfair, where they raised their family of three; Andrew, Madeline, and Lora Anne. The children attended the local Catholic schools and colleges in Philadelphia area, staying close to home. The kids were the first generation in their family to attend college, encouraged strongly by Anne’s love of learning and Andrew’s hard work ethic. Anne and Andrew eventually moved to Warminster, where they have lived happily for over 20 years.
Anne was an avid gardener, cook, homemaker, civics and most especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren—Andy (Gadaleta), Christin (Vinny Ferara), Theresa (Gadaleta), Ryan (Fazio), Michael (Fazio) Jr, Christian (Fazio), Emma and Riley (Booth)—her great grandchildren—Andrew, Blake, Lydia and Julia—and her daughters-in-law Jean and Carol (mother to Christin, Andy and Theresa).
Anne is the last surviving sibling in her large Irish-Catholic family. Her sisters and brothers, with whom she was very close, predeceased her included fifteen sisters and seven brothers.
Relatives and friends are invited to a mass in Anne’s memory on Saturday, September 18th
