Elfriede Meta Briegel

Elfriede M. Briegel died on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Southampton Estates. She was one hundred two years of age. Born in Thalheim in Erzgebirge, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Meta Freitag. Elfriede lived at the Estates for sixteen years. She had previously been a longtime resident of Yardley.

Mrs. Briegel was a member of Vereinigung Erzgebirge in Warminster and the Lower Makefield Women’s Club. Elfriede had a love of travel and enjoyed nature and animals.

Elfriede was the beloved wife of George Briegel for 51 years before his death in 1988. She was the devoted mother of Paul G. Briegel (Beatrice) of Cinnaminson, NJ and Elaine M. Williamson (David L.) of Nesconset, NY. She was the loving grandmother of Michelle Gullickson, Jennifer Ratchford, Samantha Williamson, Paul Briegel, Hope Harrell, Heide Clouse, Joseph Lebegern, Deborah Babel, James Lebegern, Nancy Schweitzer and John Lebegern (deceased). She is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.

Relatives and Friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 AM on Thursday, October 12, 2017, services at Wm. Rowen Grant Funeral Home, 659 Street Road, Southampton, PA. Her memorial service will be at 11 AM. The interment will follow in Newtown Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Salvation Army, The Nature Conservancy, or Alley Cat Allies.
