

RUCH, George A. Sr., 80, of Oakford, PA passed away suddenly of a massive heart attack Friday, August 23, 2013. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of Earl and Gertrude Ruch (nee Weaver). George is a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps where he served during the Korean Conflict, active in the training command for all engineers headed overseas. He worked as an Electrical Engineer for the IBEW Local 98 and a member of Newtown Masonic Lodge # 428. After retirement he worked as a security guard for the Philadelphia Race Track, then for the Parx Casino, President of Generations Rod and Gun Club. Boy Scout leader, a baseball coach, a softball coach, an avid hunter, fisherman, giver to all charities and an all-out amazing mentor to just about everyone he came in contact with, but most of all, a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret L. “Peggy” Ruch (nee Gregory) on July 1, 2006. Dad will be terribly missed by his seven (7) children: Patricia Crawford (Lee); George Ruch, Jr.; Earl Ruch Sr. (Barb); Trudy Hill (Ray); Linda Ruch; J.O.E. Ruch (Colleen) Laura Ciccimaro (Tim) and 18 Grandchildren, 11 Great-Grandchildren and 1 Great-Great Grandchild. Relatives and Friends are welcome beginning at 12:00 pm with a Masonic Memorial Service being held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013 at the Wm.
