Mr. Carroll was born July 11, 1948 the son of the late Oliver Junior Carroll and Catherine Sue Carroll. He had formerly worked for Norfolk Southern Railroad, been a commercial fisherman, own and operated his own shrimp boat. Mr. Carroll loved to work with his hands and build. He was the owner of 3C’s construction having built several homes in St. James, Winding River, Sunset Harbor and Boiling Spring Lakes. He was preceded in death by two brothers Eric and Dennis Carroll.
Surviving is his former wife Doris Carroll of the home; two sons Don Carroll Jr. and Todd Carroll, a brother Doug Carroll, a sister Edna Carroll and four grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 in the Cape Fear Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12 to 1:30pm prior to the service.
