Howard Noble Heuschkel Jr.

He was born on March 24, 1929 in Torrington, CT, son of the late Howard Noble Heuschkel, Sr. and Helen Balaski Heuschkel. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Joseph Heuschkel in 1993 and one sister, Elaine and two brothers, Thomas and John.

Survivors include his longtime companion, Gertrude Patty Obyrne of Southport, NC and his siblings, Donald Heuschkel, Charlie Heuschkel and Margaret Summa of Torrington, CT; two sons, John Swenson (Terryville, CT) and Joseph Heuschkel (Bennington, VT); 5 daughters, Ellen Coe and her husband, Richard (Nantucket, MA) Eileen DaSilva and her husband, Kenneth; Margaret Szymanski and her husband, Paul; Elizabeth Cilfone and her husband, Michael all of Torrington, CT; Kate Williams and her husband ,Douglas (Princeton, MA); 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. In addition, he is also survived by Patty’s children, John Obyrne and his wife Kim and their children of Lakewood, Colorado; Marybeth Obyrne of Andover, MA and Trish Wright of Oak Island, NC and her son, Michael who brought him great joy.

He served in the US Navy from 1947-1951. He did tours in Italy and the So Pacific. He was a member of IBEW and worked as an electrician for over 40 years. He enjoyed the outdoors especially camping, fishing, golfing and he also enjoyed cooking great meals and spending time with his family.

A funeral mass was held Friday, November, 27 2015 at 3:00 pm at St. Anthony Padua Church on South Road, Litchfield, CT. A second memorial service will be held Saturday, February 13, 2015 at St. James Chapel in Southport, North Carolina.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
