I am so sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with janet years ago at nhmg.  She was always full of good cheer and quick wit, and I remember how much she loved her family, and especially her son. My thoughts are with you all in this difficult time.

I was told she passed away when I was leaving from my doctors appointment Monday.  I started crying as soon as I got outside. I'm still in disbelief. We became friends a long time ago, from seeing her at the doctors office all the time. We always talked and laughed and she always had a smile on her face. Even when I was having a bad day on my visits, once I saw and started talking to her, I cheered up immediately. May she fly in peace.

I was shocked to hear the news today while leaving my doctors appointment. I have known Janet since at least 2001. She took care of both of my mother and father for many years ( Alfred and Elizabeth DiGiovanni both now deceased) and took wonderful care of me during some very difficult years. She always complimented my lipstick which became sort of an inside joke between us. My very sincere condolences to the family, friends and countless patients and employees who knew and loved her so. I cannot find any emotions, expressions of sympathy or words of condolences that can express my deepest feelings of heart break,sorrow and loss for these truly amazing families. 

I hope both families realize how God blessed Roy and Janet by arranging their meeting each other and being able to share their remarkable lives and families with each other. 

When people think of Janet they always smile and have happy thoughts. To know her was to love her. 

The ones she has left behind will endure and carry own as she would have wished for them to. "She will be missed but never forgotten, and long after the years of seasons and tides have continued to change she will be remembered by many as the winds beneath their wings."

Janet was one of my dearest friends while we were growing up from 3rd grade thru graduation.  As an adult I visited but not as often as I should have but thought of her often.  Heaven has gained a true angel today and we left behind can only say we are greatful to have known her.  My prayers and thoughts go out to her family.  

Roy, you do not know me, but I knew your wife Janet, and all of the Long family.  I was saddened to read of her passing.  May God comfort you during your time of sorrow.  My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Janet and I worked together at New Hanover Medical Group. She had such a big heart and loved the patients, taking time with each one. Everyone loved her. She will be missed. Roy, I haven't met you, but you must be special because Janet was picky and waited a long time for you.  Janet, you were like a mother to me. I adored your fiery soul, your contagious laughter, your sassy spunk. Look in the dictionary under beauty and smiles and you should see a picture of the Long girls. I was fortunate enough to know the whole Long family thru school. Graduated with Janet. What a blessed family.Lost contact but when we did meet up it was as if we were back in school; lots of smiles and laughs.Roy and Long family just remember this,"when we all get to heaven" we can recognize Janet real easy.She will be the angel with the biggest and prettiest smile. I have so many wonderful memories of Janet. We worked together for a few years and she was always the life of the party! She had a wonderful sense of humor and will be sorely missed. Our prayers go out to this sweet family!!

Janet was such a beautiful lady.  Met her many years ago as my Parents were patients with NHMG.  Missed her when she retired. She was always a delight to talk too.
