It is beyond sad to learn of the passing of Jodi Geist. I can remember her father, Dick as a unique and remarkable individual. Although my primary occupation was beach bum; in actually I was involved in local politics and remember vividly her dad's passion for integrity. I used to enjoy and learn much from Dick in his office at Playland. He actually offered much advice that has helped me, when I asked him what the RCA teleprompter did. It was a pre-Bloomberg financial device. Dick and of course his wife, ensured that his 4 daughters interacted with (respectfully) all types of people. Words are inadequate about children that grew up in West Woodmere. Probably the best is to say that Jodi had the best of life ensured by remarkable parents.

Met Jodi @ PS 104....she was very sweet & kind as I was a " newby" at the school having moved from the "beach side of Rockaway to the bay side".....

Recall having had a " play date or two".....very sorry to learn of Jodi's passing...

May her memory be for a blessing.....

Jodi sometimes has come into my mind. You may want to know why.
If I have the correct Geist, her father was owner of Rockaway Playland. 
I remember very clearly; they say the most distant significant memory is retained. I remember giving Jodi a "Diamond Ring" in the playground of P.S.104. She was blond and she was the first girl I 'fell in love" with. I wonder if she remembered. I am not sure which one of the elementary grades it was?
If someone will confirm this memory and provide story about her to share, I would most appreciate. Alas I don't recall more than that incident. And I feel a sense of loss, for her and the past in general.
