John Rudolph "Rudy" Sullivan

Mr. Sullivan was born October 27, 1932 in Winnabow, son of the late John Whitfield Sullivan and Sadie Lee Beck Sullivan. He was a veteran of the US Air Force, having served in the Korean Conflict. Rudy was instrumental in the development of the Little League Baseball program in Brunswick County. He drove the activity bus and kept the scoreboard for all games at Bolivia High School. He was a member of the Wilmington and Shallotte Bowling Leagues.

He is survived by his brother, JB Sullivan and wife Janet; five nieces, Kara Sullivan Mitchell and husband John, Clara Sullivan Dittmer and husband Robert, Deborah Sullivan Senekal and husband Andre, Sarah Sullivan Southerland and husband Randy, and Lisa Sullivan Batts and husband Bryan; four great-nephews; two great-nieces; nine great-great-nieces; a great-great nephew; special dear friends, Liz Simmons and Jackie Garland; and many more friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Elbert Lee Sullivan and his wife Clara Sue Sullivan; and a nephew, James Brian Sullivan.

A celebration of his life will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, September 23, 2025 at New Hope Presbyterian Church in Winnabow.
