Born January 18, 1971 in Harrisburg, PA, he is the son of Robert Louis Sharkey of Bedford, VA and the late Judy Sharkey. He graduated high school in Ocean City, NJ and entered the workforce as a cook. He worked for various restaurants in New Jersey, Florida and Southport. He was very proud of his tenure preparing meals at Dosher Memorial Hospital.
In addition to his father, he is survived by his sisters, Lora Sharkey, and her husband Warren Whitley, and Linda Sharkey, and her partner, Ron Kline; one aunt and uncle, Karen Cipperley and Bill Cipperley both of Ohio.
In addition to his mother, he is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Robert A. and Katheryn L. Sharkey and maternal grandparents, Henry and Betty Cipperley.
