There are certain people in our lives who occupy a place that no one else can hold.  For us, that was Tom Carter.  From our first meeting at Northrop we just seemed to share a connection with Pat and Tom.  His calm, easy going way was the perfect foil for all the craziness that was the antiques business.  We have so many memories of time spent together, Thanksgiving in New York, the Florida adventures, and of course, Sunsets down at American Fish Co. 
Tom was one of the most genuine people we have ever known, the friend who became family.  His spirit and positive outlook  always seemed to make a rough day, just a little bit better.  How fortunate we were to have him in our lives.
Our hope for Pat and the family that the prayers and love from those who truly care might provide some measure of strength and comfort for the days ahead.

Tom or Papa Tom as we knew him, was one of the most caring men we were privileged to have not only met, but call family. From tennis instructor, to story teller, to be near him was to love him. The way he loved our girls and was the best neighbor will forever be in our hearts. We send all our love and prayers to Miss Pat.

Tom was one of the first people I met when moving to the area. He invited me to participate in the local tennis community which helped me get acquainted with others in the community. 
He was always gracious and helpful.

Tom Carter was and always will be a dear and caring friend.  His kind words and smile always brightened the day of anyone who was fortunate to know him.  Competitive spirit balanced out by his gentle manner was shown to all on the tennis courts if you were lucky enough to share the courts with Tom.

Tom Carter was one of the finest, kindest,  gentlemen I have ever known. He loved his family and friends fiercely, especially his beloved Pat. He was Poppa Tom to little ones and totally devoted to his sons and grandchildren.  Your death leaves a huge void. Rest in peace with your Lord and Savior, Jesus.
