Catherine Andersen passed peacefully on Saturday May 13, 2023. She shared 85 years of love with her family. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, May 20th at 10 am at Our Lady of the Lake Parish, 294 Sparta Avenue, Sparta NJ 07871. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital are encouraged.
Catherine was born in Brooklyn, NY where she lived with her parents and her brother, Edward. She met the love of her life, James Andersen, and they married in 1959. Cathy was blessed to become a part of his large and loving family. They soon started a family of their own. Cathy was a homemaker, but later worked in the advertising industry where she made many lifelong friends. In later years she became the “Grandy” to four little ones. She and James moved from Brooklyn to NJ to be closer to their grandchildren. Cathy was an avid reader and crossword fan, but above all, she loved being a Mother and a doting Grandmother.
Predeceased by her loving husband James (2007) and her adored grandson Nicholas (2020); she leaves her children Mark Andersen (Karen) and Stacy Neurohr (Bill); her grandchildren Zachary, Kate (Andrew), Christopher (Vanessa) and her granddaughter in law Michele; her adored great grandchildren Gavin, Charlotte and Amelia; and many more dear relatives and friends.
