

Constance Joannes Dickman Brescia, 95, of Sparta, NJ passed away on March 8, 2017. She was born in Jersey City, NJ and was a resident of Sparta since 1968. Constance was discovered at the age of 16 by John Robert Powers and started a career in modeling for the Powers Agency at the age of 18. She was on nine Redbook Magazine covers, the covers of Cosmopolitan and McCall’s magazines, she was the Ivory Soap model and was the Avon Lady on TV in the 1950s and 60s. In later life, she was the owner of Connie’s Accent House on Main Street in Sparta. Constance was an avid golfer, bridge player, gardener, cook, and painter right up until the end. She is predeceased by her late husbands: G. Emerson Dickman Jr, (former Boston Red Sox pitcher and former Princeton University Baseball Coach), and Patrick Brescia. Constance is survived by her devoted children: G. Emerson Dickman lll and his wife Georgette of Tenafly, NJ; Robert Joannes Dickman and his wife Carole of Miami, FL and Constance Dickman Duquette and her husband Frank of Sparta, NJ. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Friends may call Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 2-4, 7-9pm at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St, Sparta, NJ 07871.
