Francis M. Thieke

SPARTA- Francis M. Thieke, went home to the Lord, on Wednesday, October 3, 2012 at Valley View Care Center in Newton, NJ. He was 77. Francis was born in Brooklyn, NY to John and Martina (Murphy) Thieke. He resided in Sparta since 1968. Mr. Thieke served his country proud with the US Air National Guard, and previously to retiring was employed by Warner Lambert Inc in Morris Plains, NJ. Francis was a communicant of St. Thomas of Aquin Catholic Parish in Ogdensburg, and a member of the Holy Name Society. He also was a sexton at Blessed Kateri parish in Sparta, and a founding member of its food pantry. Mr Thieke volunteered at Hudson Guild Farms in Hopatcong, loved his hobby of model railroading, and enjoyed music. Francis is survived by his beloved wife Dorothy, of 50 years, two sons; John and his wife Susi of Sparta, Mark of Independence, NJ, two daughters; Susan Hamma and husband Scott of Sparta, and Carol Cervino and husband Frank of Sparta. Three grandchildren; Alex Cervino, Ben Hamma, and Melissa Klein, two brothers; John & William Thieke, and a sister; Dorothy Albelo. A 9:30 am Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated Saturday, October 6, 2010 at St. Thomas of Aquin RC Church, Ogdensburg, NJ. Friends and family may gather at Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ from 8:00 to 9:00 am prior to church.
