Howard E. Simon

Howard E. Simon, 89, of Sparta, NJ passed away at home on April 18, 2010. He was born in Newburgh, New York and lived in Sparta for many years. Howard was a proud WWll Army/Air Corp Veteran having flown 7 combat missions over France and Germany as a bombardier and manned a 50mm machine gun on B-17’s. He was a recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a graduate of NYU with a BA in Accounting and worked as a self employed accountant. He is predeceased by his sister Natalie Haussen. Howard is survived by his beloved wife Barbara (nee Jansen) Simon; daughters Caren of New Jersey; loving stepchildren Michael Greenwald; Edward Greenwald and his wife Diane; Ronald Greenwald and his wife Jeanne; Dawn Quigley and her husband Tom; and Michele White and her husband Steve. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren and a great grandson. A funeral service will be held at 3pm Wednesday, April 21, 2010 at the Goble Funeral Home, 22 Main St., Sparta, NJ.
