Kathryn Cecilia Mcchesney

Augusta- Kathryn Cecilia McChesney passed into eternal life on Sunday, February 27, 2011 at her residence with her loving family by her side. Kathryn was born in the Bronx, New York to William and Josephine (Hayden) Swift. She was raised in Ridgefield Park, NJ , but resided for 50 years in Sparta, and then 14 years in Augusta.

Kathryn was a homemaker, although she had earned a nursing degree in-which she was extremely proud. She was a communicant of Our Lady of the Lake RC Church, and a member of the Rosary Altar Society. She was a member of the Sparta Seniors, and had been named Senior of the year in the 1990"s. Kathryn assisted many organizations as a volunteer, such as the Interfaith Hospitality Ministry, Newton Manna House Soup Kitchen, and also belonged to the Lafayette Quilting Club.

Predeceasing her is husband Francis in 1990, and two sons; William(2001) and L. Francis (2009). Surviving her are five sons; James and wife Sylvia of New Port Richey, Fl, Dennis and wife Judith of Sarasota, Fl, Tom and wife Sherry of Bloomingburg, NY, John and wife Kate of Sparta, and Gordon of Netcong, six daughters; Mary Kay Luba and husband Robert of Sparta, Peggy Walsh of Sparta, Patricia McGuire and husband Desmond of St. Petersburg, Fl, Louise McChesney of Branchville, Jody Morrell and husband Allen of Fredon, NJ, and Theresa Concannon and husband Patrick of Augusta, 28 Grandchildren, and 33 Great Grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871, Wednesday, from 2~ 4 & 7~ 9 pm. A Funeral liturgy will be celebrated Thursday 10:00 am from Our Lady of the Lake RC Church, Sparta followed by interment at Sparta Cemetery.
