He was 81 years old. Born in Montclair, NJ to Joseph and Lucy Hattie Spaulding (Lawlor), he resided in Sparta for the past 43 years, living previously in Basking Ridge, NJ and Excelsior, MN. Mr. Spaulding served his country proudly in the US Marine Corps, during the Korean War from 1949-51. He was employed as a Cargo Ship Broker for Louis Dreyfus Company of Wilton, Connecticut. Surviving him is his loving wife Eileen Spaulding (Hume), three sons; Robert, Timothy and Matthew Spaulding, and four daughters; Susan Durning, Laura Spaulding, Jennifer Jordan, and Julie O'Neil. Friends and family are invited Wednesday from 9:00am to 11:00 am to Goble Funeral Home 22 Main Street Sparta, NJ 07871. A Funeral Liturgy will follow at 11:30 AM from Our Lady of the Lake RC Church 294 Newton-Sparta Rd Sparta, NJ. Cremation will be private.
