Catherine Mabel Sims

Catherine Mabel Sims, born on June 10, 1929, in Chattaroy, Washington, passed away on February 2, 2026, at the age of 96. A resident of Portland, Oregon, Catherine was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Vance Sims, and children, Duane Robert Brown, Cynthia Kay McLeran, Dennis Alan Sims, and Terry Eugene Sims. Catherine is survived by her daughter, Linda Marie Wall, and sons, Jonny Lee Sims, Paul Raymond Burnett, Phillip Leland Burnett, Anthony Neal Sims, and Steven Glen Sims. She also leaves behind her brother, Raymond Wesley Gearheart, and cherished memories with her 22 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Catherine was the daughter of the late Ella May Gearheart and Charles H Gearheart. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Wallace Lincoln Gearheart, Stanley Lee Gearheart, and Elsie Mae Springer.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Good Shepherd Community Church, located at 28986 SE Haley RD, Boring, OR 97009, on March 15, 2026, from 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. Another service will take place at Spokane Valley Church of the Nazarene, 15515 E 20th, Spokane Valley, WA 99037, on March 28, 2026, from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.

Catherine will be remembered for her enduring love and dedication to her family and the many lives she touched throughout her long and meaningful life.
