

Darrell Thomas Sather went to be with Jesus on November 12th after suffering a brain stem stroke. His home-going is a blessing for him, yet leaves his family and friends with sad hearts. He will be greatly missed.Darrell was born in Nez-Perce, ID on November 10, 1934 to Lawrence and Cecil Sather. He was the only child. His love for farming was taught to him by his father, while his mother taught him manners and how to dress well. He grew up to be a tall, blonde handsome man. He served Our Country in the US Army, and was stationed in Germany where he was an Ordnance Mechanic and Tank Retriever. Upon being discharged, he returned to Spokane to work on the farm and attended Vo-Tech school in order to further hone his skills in farming, welding, machinery mechanics, and painting automobiles. He met his wife, Terry Jo (T.J.) on a blind date, and the rest is history. He is survived by his wife, Terry Jo, 3 children, D. Allen Sather, Barry Sather, and Paula Sather-Watkins, mother and father-in-law, Betty and Dwight Rittenhouse, brother-in-law and sister-in-law Dave and Suz Rittenhouse. He was Grandpa, or Papa D, to 8 grandchildren and one great grandson. Visitation will be held at Hazen & Jaeger Valley from noon to 4pm on Friday, November 18th. Memorial Services will be held on Saturday, November 19th, at 11 am at Opportunity Presbyterian Church, 202 N. Pines Rd, in Spokane Valley, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to Opportunity Presbyterian Church or to the charity of ones choice.
