Born November 3, 1940, and passed on July 17, 2025, at the age 84. She was born and raised in Spokane, WA. She married Frank Flanigan at age 18 and their son, David was born in 1958, and daughter, Sandra in 1959.
She moved with the children to Walla Walla and started a new life there. She finished her high school diploma and took college classes. She met Clarence Atchison and learned to dance! They all moved to Kelso, WA in 1967, married and lived there for 12 years until Clarence passed in March of 1979.
In 1984, her job changed, and she moved to Moses Lake and then back to Spokane, helping with her mother, Florence Shay for over 15 years while working full time at Good Samaritan.
Doris was kind, caring, sweet and a bit set in her ways…. She loved getting together with family, helping others, having fun at reunions, gatherings, and knew how and loved to cook! She liked going to the beach, lake, taking pictures, and painting acrylic and watercolor pictures. She loved the Lord, bible study and being a homebody after heart surgery and retirement.
Her final years were a bit rough with health issues, but we traveled back and forth to get our families together as often as we could! She traveled to 9 states with her boyfriend Harlan Miller and had some adventures in 1999 and well beyond.
Her favorite thing to say after naps, at her sister’s while staying there was, "Where’s the pie?" and to us with every phone call and visit, "Just remember I Love You."
