Elon Casey Jones, a beloved husband, father, and cherished member of the Spokane Valley community, passed away on December 18, 2025, at the age of 90. Born in Hartwell, Georgia, he lived a diverse life shaped by his commitment to service, music, and community.
Elon proudly served in the Army, where he was awarded the Purple Heart for wounds in battle and the Bronze Star for heroism. He settled in Spokane Valley, Washington, in 1977 and became an integral part of the local community, particularly within the Blues music scene. An accomplished musician and guitarist, he often thrilled audiences with his heartfelt performances during guest spots with various local musicians and bands. His love for the Blues defined his life, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of hearing him play.
Known for his kindness and determination, Elon dedicated his life to helping others and nurturing strong relationships. He was a loving husband to Miyoshi for over 50 years and lived as a widower for 17 more, surrounded by friends and loved ones. He is survived by his son, Elon Jones Jr., daughter, Yvonne Marcinko, and grandson, Gabe.
One of his most treasured memories was celebrating his 80th birthday, where he enjoyed the company of family and friends, exemplifying the joy and spirit he brought to life.
In recognition of his contributions to the local music scene, Elon received a "Special Recognition Award" from the Inland Empire Blues Society in 2019—a testament to his influence and enduring legacy within the community.
A funeral service will be held at Hazen & Jaeger Valley on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 2 PM. 1306 N. Pines Rd, Spokane Valley.
