Our Gary... I love you! I have a lifetime of memories growing up with my brother. But my most memorable or favorite memories of Gary are of helping each other with our many remodeling and home improvement projects throughout the years. Which many times took place on weeknights after work. Our dad used to say that Gary and I didn’t start until after dinner and would work sometimes to almost midnight. ( Dad also jokingly said we did our best work at night). Weather it was at Gary’s, mine, our parents house, or at my rentals, I always enjoyed our talks & just spending the time working together with him on whatever the project was at the time! Another was when Gary and I went to Prince George, B.C. a few years ago. It was a quick trip there, but a 15 hour drive each way. We had time to just talk about whatever, we had some great laughs and maybe a few tears too. 
It’s always been obvious that Gary was devoted to his family. But as I helped sort through pictures for the slideshow for most of the week prior to Gary’s memorial made it even more evident. As I looked through many albums, envelopes and boxes of pictures, what an incredible story they told! No matter the event, birthday, milestone, activity, sport, accomplishment, birth, you name it, he was there!! “ Truly Committed  “ 
We remember people for different reasons, a great laugh, a unique perspective, a story shared. But mostly, we remember a life well-lived and honor a person well-loved. Hoping your memories bring you comfort in your time of loss, and that it lifts your heart to know others share your sadness. 
Each one of you are truly “ Gary’s Glory “! Your in my thoughts... in my prayers... and forever in my heart. I love you all. 

I will always remember the time I was spending time with Andrea and Gary came to asked if we wanted to help him change his brakes on his truck.  I immediately said "yes" , so I went to his garage and helped him, he taught me so patiently how to change those brakes. He was always so kind and loving toward everyone,and always let me come to play with Andrea. She is one of my best friends,  her mom and Gary were like extra parents for me.  Such a great example of a loving family. I'm so sorry that he was taken from this earth too soon. I believe we'll see him again one day.  He is missed. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to attend his funeral and show support and love. 

Our family lost one of our loved and cherished members. My sister, Sarah, lost her best friend and devoted husband. He loved everyone and brightened every room. He had the biggest heart. We love and miss you, Gary!

You have left a legacy for all of us to treasure Mr.Hoyt. Making forever memories with you and your family truly have blessed all of our family. From having your son Josh , our son Travis and Tyler a part of our lives,  to the never ending laughs we all shared together.

Followed later with a chili cheese dog and mind you it had to be Nalleys chili accompanied with a pepsi.
Poppes cookies or a cinnabon whichever we had available!
Numerous trips to Baskin Robbins for chocolate ice cream!
Cruise fun....a plate of steaks each dinner waiting for you, and yes Pepsi was there also, kayak fun in Roatan, Freddy the smoke stack, endless trivia and corn hole. We did it all!  This doesn't count the numerous Wolf Lodge, Outback and Red Robin adventures! Aside from food... you always were available with a smile on your face as long as there was a pepsi involved to help us out. The best of the best was our caravan trip to deliver our kids to NNU! EZ loader trailers were so well packed with their belongings in well packed bins carefully packed inside every area within  those trailers! Love you Mr Hoyt!  Always in the back of my mind will ring the words,' HELLO MRS GREEN!" 



Our relationship started out as supplier to customer, but over 30+ years of time, that morphed into a solid friendship. The main catalyst for that change was when Gary and I traveled the U.S. as well as Canada to all their assembly plants and distributors for work. From 2006 through 2007, we waited in airports together, sat on airplanes, drove to the various facilities, and ate every meal together. That immersion began a deeper friendship as we had time to talk about all kinds of things and I saw his love of family and got a glimpse of his character and his high standard of values. 

I remember he referred to me as "persnickety", but he said that was a compliment because he considered himself to be the same!
  I also found out that we both graduated high school the same year from different schools in the Spokane area. We discovered our birthdays were only 13 days apart, although I always kidded him that he was the "old one" since his birthday was in March and mine is April.    In addition, I was able to observe first-hand how he handled the people we interacted with.  I also became aware of some strange preferences in food! He always had to impress upon the wait staff that he only wanted the hamburger and bun without all the extras that came with it on most menus. And to this day who else orders a Pepsi and when they tell them all they have is Coke products, they say, "Well that will have to do then."   Gary also loved Twizzlers so we would normally stop at a drugstore to buy the biggest bag they had.  Before that, I didn't even know that red Twizzlers came in strawberry AND cherry!    We gained each other's respect and I will miss those times together in the future.

Thank you for your friendship Gary.  Your memory is still very alive in my mind.  God blessed you with a terrific family but he took you too soon from all of us.

I’ve always felt valued by Gary. I love how he always made us laugh! In recent years it’s been really fun to see him and my youngest, Mana, play it out at ping pong. The competition was always intense! I loved that Gary could tell my kids about his uncle Bud, my Grandpa, the kid’s great grandpa! It was a special time with Gary!

Gary and the Hoyt family are weved through my life. So many memories of Gary as a Band Dad at CV and all the youth group trips. Gary was always one of the first eiplw to welcome me home when I would visit. Gary will be greatly missed.

I am fortunate enough to be One of Josh’s best friends and Gary was truly a second dad to me.  I have hundreds of memories from the thousands of hours spent in that loving home. But spending random lunches with Gary at his little office at EZ Loader, having him give me life advice, was the best memories I have. He sat there and would let me pour my heart out and then give me the most sound wisdom. He would comfort and treat me like one of his own kids. I started calling Gary Ger Bear about 25 years ago because he was such a big teddy bear and gave us big bear hugs. I know he grew to love it. Love you Ger bear and I’ll see you again

Loved going to breakfast, and just hanging out. If I ever needed a Pepsi, Gary always had one for me.

My favorite memory when the Thompson family all went to burgerville. When we ordered and sat down we were talking amongst ourselves. When Gary and Sarah got there food he looked at the 3 chicken strips, milkshake, fries, and salad and said “twenty bucks and this is all we get??”

I first spoke to Gary in the early 2000s to see if he needed any help with graphics at EZ Loader.  Nothing happened at that time.  About 10 years later I tried again and after speaking a couple of minutes to him I realized that it was the same guy from 10 years earlier with the dry, good sense of humor.  Well we did start doing business.  I enjoyed many conversations with him over the years regarding work, sports, and many aspects of life.  We spoke quite a lot just this past year.  I am stunned that he is gone and we will all miss him at KEG Graphics.  We give our sincere condolences to all of his family and friends.

Gary was a great person to work with. He always cracked me up with asking if this was the best Oxarc could do, or I found better pricing on line. I would remind him that online doesn’t have customer service that will show up like we do. We would laugh and move on. He will be greatly missed by all of us here at Oxarc. I am glad I had the opportunity to meet and work with him.

I don't know where to start. I have worked with Gary for many decades. Over the years we had many lunches and conversations about sports and family. Gary was very proud of his family.

I don’t even know where to start, it has really been a rough week for me. I started out as Gary’s vendor for EZ Loader some 20 plus years ago. I sold him the axle components and brake systems for the trailers and that led to the best friendship that one could imagine. When I think of my great buddy Gary, I think attentive-cheerful-considerate-empathetic-generous-the best listener-loving-reliable-sincere-trustworthy and warm hearted. We found ourselves talking about the things we treasured the most in life and often times said to each other “I can’t believe I just told you that”. We were close and shared intimate things amongst each other, and I will miss his advice and help he gave me all those years. My wife and I love you, Gary. Let us be grateful to people who make us happy and help us in life, thank you Gary. There are no words for such an unimaginable loss. Sarah and family, you’re in my thoughts/prayers/heart.

Prayers for you Sarah, Andrea, Josh and your whole family!  It is so hard to believe Gary has gone on to heaven!  He was such a good friend!  I sure enjoyed talking with him!  He would call me frequently and we would talk about work, sports, family or whatever.  I am sure going to miss him!

I am so saddened by this news.  I have worked with Gary for 21+ years.  I think of him as a big brother and a great coworker. I was his Purchasing Assistant for quite a few years. He would always get on my case about my smoking. He said he would quit drinking Pepsi if I would quit smoking. I quit smoking and I think he stopped drinking Pepsi for a week!   So many great memories and stories of Gary. Rest easy my friend. God bless you Sarah and the Hoyt family. 🙏🏻❤️

I first met Gary in 2005. As a long time steel tubing supplier to EZ Loader I would  usually visit Gary once per year and talk on the phone with him often. The conversations were never short as  they would meander from story to story about business, sports and then family. If he initiated the call they’d usually take place after business hours Chicago time. I always took HIS calls because I so enjoyed our conversations. My favorite memories with Gary were our drives out to Coeur d’Alene for dinners at the Wolf Lodge Inn Restaurant. A big old steak and a Pepsi was his go to. Then he’d tell the same funny story about Rocky Mountain Oysters. I laughed every time. The attached photo of Sarah and Gary was taken at Falls Park on the way back from one of those memorable dinners.

I never met a more sincere, trustworthy and caring man so fiercely devoted to his family and his work. A man whose deed always followed  his word.  Gary was a True Gentleman, that is for sure….. and I will miss him dearly.

First off,  My heartfelt prayers & thoughts go out to Sarah, Andrea, Josh, Grand kids, & Friends. What an unbelievable & devastating loss to deal with. The memories with Gary are many for me, from the EZ Loader company Christmas & Summer family parties, to our sons playing against each other in HS football, to playing against each other in softball for years- to me joining his team & playing together with him, & all the many numerous times on various golf courses together, several vendor various restaurant lunch & dinner meals, just to mention a few.
  I’ve know Gary since 1976 (46yrs) when we both started work at EZ Loader when we were the same age, only 20-21yrs old. Our journey found us working together starting in 1998 in offices right beside each other, him as the Purchasing Manager & me as the Materials Manager for (30yrs) in Inventory Control-until I retired December 2018.
Even though our strengths were different, (we blended well as a team discussing all the numerous difficult issues and constant changes that transpired before us, because as with (for us like brothers)-meaning Everything Was On The Table) with our decision always striving for the best possible attainable results for EZ Loader.
  I will always think of his unforgettable huge laughter at times together, the dedication he had to EZ Loader, his love of Chrysler-Dodge, Pepsi, Arby’s, Snicker Bars, UW Huskies, LA Dodgers, Seattle Mariners, Wolf Lodge, just to mention a few.
  I feel very blessed to know Gary, a true Christian man of God, his Integrity, his Loyalty, his Dependability & with his influence, I’m a better person for knowing him.

Dear Gar-Bear
I worked with you from 1982 thru 2004 when I retired. You were so kind to me when I started at EZ Loader. I was a widow and you came to my house and repaired things for me as long as I bought you an Arby’s for lunch. I called you Gar-Bear because that’s what I called my son, also a Gary. You said that was an honor. You will be greatly missed. I send loving memories. 

I consider myself blessed to have worked with Gary.  He was always the epitome of a family man and was a genuinely terrific person to be around.  Rest easy my friend.

I enjoyed working with Gary at Ezloader Boat Trailers for 10 years. He impressed me with his knowledge and big heart, always pleasant & willing to help others.  The times we traveled together to other Ezloader sites I enjoyed his stories and sense of humor. He always drove and at times when we paid for a full tank of gas at the car rental he wanted to return the car close to empty, but respected my wishes not to risk running out of gas before the return. 


Gary was one of the first customers I ever visited (back in 1992) when I started in this industry and visited EZ Loader.  He was a friend to me as well as a business colleague. Favorite memories include skiing at Schweitzer and Silver Mountain, dinners at Wolf Lodge, and eating Krispy Kreme doughnuts out of the box while talking business in his office. Gary was a role model in life and in business. He had a saying which I adopted and used with his permission, “Always take the high road, there’s less traffic.”  He will be missed by all of us here at The Universal Group, LLC.

Sending my deepest condolences to Gary's family, friends, and co-workers.  It was a pleasure working with Gary over these past couple of years.  He was foremost one of my biggest cheerleaders and understood I had huge shoes to fill when I was brought aboard as his Customer Service contact at Dexter Axle.  Thank you, Gary, for your kind words and patience through the years.  You will truly be missed and thought of often.  Rest in peace my friend. I have worked with Gary for almost 20 yrs. His knowledge and laughter will forever be remembered.  Prayers for his family during this difficult time.

I worked with Gary over 12 years ago at EZ Loader as the Purchasing Assistant.  He shared his construction experience with me and even bought me a small tool to make things easier!  AND, just like others he would text every year on my birthday which was one day after his.
Who does that?  So thankful our paths crossed in life.
