Gary Dean Sciuchetti

Gary was born May 19, 1942, to Fred and Rena (Maggi) Sciuchetti of Kellogg, Idaho. His family later moved to Spokane where he graduated from Rogers High School in 1960. He attended Eastern Washington University and later worked for Boeing, Kaiser Aluminum (30 years) as a skilled draftsman and mechanical designer, and the City of Spokane. He also spent 26 years as a volunteer firefighter and six years in the U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps. In 1978, he married Judy Engle of Spokane.

Gary enjoyed working with his hands and spending time outdoors in nature, and built his own house on Mount Spokane. He was also unfailingly kind and always willing to step up when someone needed help.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Judy; daughter, Sami Kubicek (Troy); grandsons, Eli, Ezra, and Silas; stepchildren, Michelle Regel (Chris), Julie Schweifler (Tom), and Howard Evans (Jessica); step-grandchildren, Zac, Madi, Evan, Jon, and Reilly; and many nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues who miss him deeply.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 2 p.m. at Foothills Community Church, 11102 N. Forker Rd., Spokane.
