Kay Shirley (Thompson) Eggleston (born June 26th, 1943) passed away Tuesday January 30th, 2018 to her peaceful eternal rest. Born in Spokane with a fierce adventurous spirit, she devoted her life to children. After graduating from Washington State University with a Bachelor’s degree in English (Go Cougs!!) and then a master's degree from Clark College, she spent years teaching kids in Hawaii. She returned to Vancouver, Washington where she continued her dedicated work protecting children for the Department of Social and Health Services. She retired after twenty years with the State of Washington and moved to Spokane ten years after that. Kay is survived by her beloved cat Krystal, her nieces, nephews and all her friends who are warmed and inspired from her wonderful life. She will be deeply missed.
There will be a memorial this summer. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Arthritis Foundation or the charity of your choice are suggested.
