Lanny J. Flynn Sr.

Lanny J. Flynn, 70, passed away unexpectedly April 11, 2010 at Sacred Heart Medical Center. He was born February 25, 1940 in Scranton, PA, the son of Thomas and Hazel Flynn. He received his BS in Business Administration at the University of Scranton. He was honorably discharged from the United States Navy. He is a Mason and Past Master of the Hiram Masonic Lodge in Scranton. He moved from Scranton to Spokane, WA in 1978. He retired from Coastal Marketing as a Food Broker Sales Representative in 2001.

Last year Lanny celebrated his 50th wedding anniversary with his wife, Gerry. He is also survived by his daughter, Hazel Parkison (Ralph “Chip”); son, Lanny (Yoonhee); grandchildren, Ashley and Ralph Parkison, as well as, numerous extended families. He received the most joy from being with his family. He was a loving, caring husband, father and grandfather. He brought so much joy and laughter to his family and he will truly be missed.

Lanny was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas, Robert and Donald and sister, Beverly Lindquist.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 15, 2010 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd with funeral services on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the funeral home’s chapel with Pastor Homer Todd officiating and the Scottish Rite Rose Croix Team participating. Entombment will be at the Pines Cemetery Mausoleum with Military Honors. Memorial donations may be made to the Diabetes Foundation.
