

LaVoir D. Duvall, 81, passed away on June 18, 2011 in Valleyford, WA and was born in Vernal, UT on July 28, 1929 to Alva James and Marion Alta Manwaring Duvall. He is survived by his daughter, Necia Sinden (David); son, Reed L. Duvall; two sisters, Doris Goodrich and Velda Simmons; twin brother, DeMar E. Duvall; four grandchildren Shauna, Laura, Brett and Ashley and two great grandchildren, Piper and Logan. He was preceded in death by his brother, Alva Duvall and sister, Beulah McConkie. LaVior served a mission with his twin brother, DeMar for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the North Central States Mission from 1949 – 1951 where they toured as part of The Mormonaries, which were a dance band and also a singing quartet. He and his twin brother served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He worked for the Department of Agriculture as a Federal Grain Inspector across the United States and Canada from the 1970’s to the 1990’s retiring with 25 years of service. After retirement he moved to Moses Lake, WA to farm with his twin brother until 2007, when he moved to Valleyford to spend time with his daughter and her family. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 27, 2011 at 12:00 Noon at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bowdish Chapel, 40th & Bowdish Rd., Spokane Valley. Interment will be at the South Pines Cemetery, Spokane Valley, WA. Arrangements under the direction of Thornhill Valley Chapel, Spokane, WA.
