Marvel was born to Fred Pruitt and Amelia Nearing Pruitt on April 26th, 1933 in Kellogg, Idaho. She attended Elementary, Junior High and High School in Kellogg, Idaho where she acquired many of her lifelong friends. It was in Kellogg where Marvel met Gerald Bailey. She fell in love with the handsome hardworking miner and they were married. They began their life together in a home in Smelterville, Idaho and eventually moved to Spokane to settle in their country home in the Bigelow Gulch area. That is where they raised their family of five. She enjoyed dancing and became a dance instructor in Kellogg, Idaho. After moving to Spokane she worked as a manager at True Value Hardware Store and she also managed a produce farm near the Bigelow Gulch area. Some of Marvels passions were dancing, cooking, canning and gardening. She enjoyed family gatherings and being surrounded by her children and grandchildren. Her family was her pride and joy and she loved every one with all her heart and soul.
Marvel is survived by husband Jerry and her sister Glenda Price. Marvel and Jerry’s children are Cary Bailey and his wife Lydia, whose children are Jeanette, Jared, Clayton, Kaydee and Christina stepdaughter, Randy Bailey whose sons are Ricky, Jeremy and Jesse. Her deceased son Mike’s wife Cherry and their children are Christy, Jeremy and Joe Bailey, Monte Bailey and his wife Valerie whose son is Jake. Marvels youngest and only daughter is Cindy Bailey. Marvel was also close and motherly to her deceased sister Betty’s children. Raymond Angel, Bobbie Angel, Ron Angel, Ricky Angel, and Rochelle Angel. Marvel had 12 beautiful grand children and her 5 great grandchildren are; Zane Taggart, Brennen Bailey, Jaylen Fourstar, Colby James Bailey, Brittany, Sierra and Conner Bailey.
Marvel was preceded in death by her beloved parents Fred and Amelia Pruitt her beloved young brothers Raymond Pruitt, and older brother Archie Pruitt, her beautiful eldest sister Betty Angel, her handsome brother Fred Pruitt and her third son Mike Bailey.
Her friends were too many to count, but she will truly be deeply and greatly missed. Funeral services will be held at Hazen and Jaeger on North Pines Saturday February 5th at 2:00 p.m.
