Ice, Melvin Leonard (age 82) went peacefully home to his Father in Heaven on October 10, 2010. He was born in Spokane on January 17, 1928 to Cora Vaughn (Step-father, Gerald Knight) and Roy Ice. Melvin served his country proudly and bravely for 20 years in the United States Air Force. He loved golfing from the time his brother, Jerry, gave him his first lesson. He always had a joke and smile for anyone that needed a friend and a laugh. He is survived by his brother, Jerry C. Knight and his wife, Barbara Knight of Post Falls, ID. Melvin’s last few years was a long courageous battle with cancer and Alzheimer’s. He will be missed by all his friends, and especially the Claude Wheeler Family. A committal service will be held at 11:15 AM on Friday, October 22, 2010 at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd, Medical Lake, WA. Memorial contributions may be made in Melvin’s memory to Hospice of Spokane.
