Miriam Mann passed away unexpectedly at the age of 67 on January 12, 2025, in Spokane, Washington. Born on September 29, 1957, in Detroit, Michigan, to Teodoro and Eulalia (Bernardi) Cumba, her love for warm, sunny weather led her to California shortly after graduating from St. Andrew High School in 1975.
Among Miriam's most treasured moments were those spent with her three sons, Jeremy, Joshua, and Jeffrey. She often shared that her greatest accomplishment was raising these remarkable boys. She leaves behind a legacy of joyful memories filled with laughter, cherished by her sons Jeremy (Stephanie) LaFollette and Jeffrey (Sarah) Mann, her grandchildren Jake and Hadley LaFollette (please don’t call her Mee-Maw!), her siblings Alma Connell, Ed Cumba, Daisy Smith, Nancy Cumba, and Nolin Cumba, as well as numerous dear friends, acquaintances, and her beloved dog, Max.
Miriam was also a loving aunt to David, Brianna (Chris), Ashley (Jared), Nathan (Bri), Lauren (Lerome), Jordan (Nesha), and Ryan (Amber), along with their children Lola, Natalia, Elijah (Trinity), Zion, Ariah, Jersie, Paxton and Preston.
In her younger years, Miriam was an adrenaline seeker, showcasing her skills on slalom water skis, enjoying boating and jet skiing. Although she wasn’t a fan of snow, she liked to tear it up on snowmobiles. With a keen eye for bargains, she loved exploring estate sales and second-hand shops. Miriam also had a passion for driving, handling any vehicle with ease. (Who could forget her racing –
and winning – in Joe Topor’s van on Telegraph?) Her driving skills came in handy while working for Auto Show in Motion, where she expertly hauled fifth wheels and trailers. She loved playing the slots
in Las Vegas, especially when Mom came into town to play her tournaments.
Miriam's greatest gift was her generosity and the love and support she provided to her family and friends. She left her mark on the world with her fierce and wild heart.
Miriam was preceded in death by her son, Joshua LaFollette, and her parents, Eulalia and Teodoro Cumba.
