

Raymond Fred Crocker Born June 19th, 1932 in Spokane WA. To Lena Mary (Gioia) and Lyle Raymond Crocker. He attended grade school in Spokane and Portland, OR. Ray attended Pacific Grove High School in Pacific Grove, CA. He joined the 82nd Airborne 505th Infantry at Fort Bragg, NC. Ray’s basic training was at Fort Lewis, WA. and Jump School at Fort Benning, GA. Ray served his country from January 29, 1953 to January 28, 1955. He then returned to Spokane, WA. Where he met and married the love of his life, Gayle Marie (Kinsel) Crocker. They were married August 10th, 1957. Ray and Gayle celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary in August of this year.
Ray loved his family and was always the first one to lend a hand, ear or truck , whichever was needed.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and always loved the holiday get together’s. .
Ray was a truck driver for Convoy Company until his retirement in 1986. In 1981 he opened the Coin Corner in the Spokane Valley with his wife, Gayle and son, Nick where they were partners for over 20 years.
In his teens and 20’s he enjoyed motorcycles and hunting with his friends. In his 30’s he enjoyed camping and fishing with his family. The last 30 years he has been an avid fisherman. He taught his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren about his love of the “hook”. He always enjoyed his two best fishing pals Bill Topar and Jack Slingsby, they spent many a day fishing the Up River Run Chinook down on the Columbia River. Where, he always had a fun and friendly competition with his son Nick’s boat, to see who would catch the biggest and most fish.
Ray is survived by his wife Gayle. Daughter, Cheryl & (Rob) Wyatt, Son, Nick Crocker, Daughter, Marci & (Paul) McClearn & Son, Mark Crocker. Grandchildren- Danielle & (Jeremy) Wallis, Desirae Crocker, Jayme Stevens, Eric & (Kayla) Crocker, Benjamin Crocker & Jen Fernandes. Great Grandchildren, Daymeon & Blayke Ray Stansberry, Kyla & Karisa Wallis Rylee Rae Crocker, Khloe Crocker & Eva Fernandes. Ray is also survived by his Sister Barbara Koker & Aunt, Millie Tveden.

Funeral Services will be at Hazen & Jeager 1306 N Pines Rd, Spokane Valley , there will be a viewing on Thursday December 1st from 1-7pm Funeral Services will be at 2pm on Friday, December 2nd 2011 at Hazen and Yeager. You can sign the online memorial at www.hazenjaegervalley.com
In lieu of flowers a donation to the Salvation Army or The Union Gospel Mission would be Ray’s preference.
