

Ronald “Ron” R. Cook passed away November 15, 2011 at Providence Sacred Heart Medical Center from heart failure due to Agent Orange exposure. Ron was born on March 20, 1947 in Shelton, WA to parents Arthur “Buck” and Ethel Cook. He attended elementary school in Grand Coulee, WA and continued in Tonasket, WA where he graduated in 1965. Ron joined the Army in 1966 and proudly became an Airborne soldier, serving two tours of duty in Vietnam. Upon returning to the states in 1969, he worked as a long haul truck driver, did some logging and was a heavy equipment operator.
He loved to camp and hunt, but lately spent most of his time reading old west history or watching history shows. He also like watching Zags basketball, any football games, going to Spokane Shock games and watching grandkids play sports.
Ron is survived by his wife o f 22 years, Norma; twin sons Casey (Lindsay) Cook, Fort Collins, CO and Corey (Brenda) Cook, Hermiston, OR; stepdaughters Renee (Brad) Puryear, Sandpoint, ID, Melinda (Michael) Frady, Spokane, WA and Diana (John) Montecucco, Cheney, WA; his mother and sister Darlene Cook of Tonasket, WA; grandchildren Nolynd, Pailyn, Justin, Abby, Sarah, Megan, Madison, Miranda and Cameron. He was preceded in death by his father, brother Phil and sister Audrey.
Funeral services will be held Monday, November 21, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Thornhill Valley Chapel, 1400 S. Pines Rd., Spokane Valley, WA 99206. Inurnment will be held at a later date at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA. In honor of Ron please make donations to the American Heart Association or the family suggests becoming an organ donor.
