Sandra Kay Anderson

Spokane Valley — Sandy Anderson (80), died on September 10, 2023 in Spokane Valley, WA after a long illness. Born in Sioux City Iowa, Sandy had also lived in Phoenix and Chicago prior to moving to Spokane Valley in 1959.

Sandy met Jim Anderson in 1960 in Millwood, and they were married the following year after graduating from West Valley High School in 1961.

Sandy had many interests that kept her days busy. She attended nursing school and communications at Gonzaga University, received a floral arranging certification and managed wedding arrangements for a period of time. She was also very active in the church and excelled in service positions. She loved decorating her home, spending time in the garden, watching movies, shopping and going for Sunday drives. Her retirement years were spent traveling the North and Southwest states, and many summers were spent on the lake boating with close friends, Bob and Claudia Mason.

Sandy is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years Jim Anderson, as well as her daughter Susan Noack (Venice Beach, Florida), son Joe Anderson (Renton, WA), and Michelle Anderson (West Seattle, WA). In addition, she is leaving behind 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and sister-in-law, Virginia Gibson.

Sandy will be greatly missed.
