Carol Frances Fowler of Spokane, WA passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, 3/5, at 3:25 p.m. Earlier that day, the Hospice Chaplain was playing Amazing Grace and Just a Closer Walk on the guitar at her bedside.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, co-worker and friend. Carol was born July 14th, 1936 to Carl and Frances Bays in Spokane, WA. She attended North Central High School and graduated in 1955. After graduation she started working at The Crescent Downtown and ran the switchboard (allegedly the second largest switchboard in Spokane). She met Harry Fowler, a fellow NC graduate, while still at NC, when he was home on leave from the U.S. Navy. They fell in love and after a 21 month engagement, they were married on May 11th, 1957. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 59 years Harry. She is survived by her son Mike Fowler (Tina) and daughter Lorri Carlo (Don), four grandchildren, Dane Lawrence (Kylie), Luke Fowler, Christianne Domke (Josh) and Max Carlo and three great-grandchildren, Vivienne, Adelynn and Camden. She is also survived by many other family members.
Carol loved Jesus and her family the most, but also loved music (she was a great singer and was in a special group in high school), gardening, flowers, travel and reading. She also was an “Avon Lady” for many years, had her own daycare and worked for Kelly Healthcare. She will be missed by all of us, especially for her infectious giggle and funny “Carol-isms”.
A memorial service will be held on June, 27th at 1:00 p.m. at Ball & Dodd Funeral Home. A reception will follow.
