Carole Lewis

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Carole, who lived up to the meaning of her name, song of joy. After a long and courageous journey, Carole left this world peacefully into the arms of her Savior. Those last years, she entertained others with her humor, singing and her beautiful smile. Born in The Great Depression, she was raised living the farm life. She was a diligent student which earned her Valedictorian of her highschool class.

Carole entered a teachers college joining a sorority and met some good friends. One friend, also moved across country and ended up close in distance to Carole in their married years. They remained friends until their passings in the same year. It was as if they each needed to continue their friendship in heaven together and coordinated their departures. After Carole graduated, she dedicated a year of services teaching in a village in Korea at a missionary school through her Presbyterian Church. Later, she taught in private and public schools before and during the years she raised her family. Her career lasted over 30 years.

Wife, mother of two, grandmother of three and a full career and masters program, Carole settled into her life in Spokane. She faithfully served in her church and practiced her faith unwavering. She led an active life enjoying entertainments and hobbies. Social and friendly, she always made sure she met her neighbors and offered a helping hand when needed.

Carole walked through life with a gentle strength, an empathetic spirit, creatively unique, refined, and remembered as someone fun with a contagious laugh. She showed her faith through her dedications and living her beliefs.

Carole is survived by her daughter Sheri; granddaughter Kailen; grandson Nathaniel; granddaughter Mikayla; sister Phyllis (Kent); sister Bonnie; five nephews and nieces; one grand-nephew and seven grand-nieces.

Carole was preceded in death by her daughter Keelie; her parents Charles and Laverne; her brother Eugene, and her brother-in-law Douglas.
