Dan was a good friend and brother in Christ. We served together at Fairchild AFB. My wife Karen and I enjoyed having him over to our home in Medical Lake. The picture was taken at his and my birthday supper, probably in 1977. I left the Air Force in 1976 and we lost track of each other. 
My son and wife were looking through some old photos and found the picture so I decided to google Dan Whye. I was shocked that only 19 days after his passing and over 40 years since having any contact with him I found he has gone to be with the Lord. My condolences to you and your family.

We all appreciated and enjoyed knowing Dan. We have fond memories of him at church...a firm handshake, an infectious grin, a clap on the back and a bit of humor...all part of a warm hello. We are so glad to have known you, Dan. We will miss you here and look forward to seeing again by and by!

Dan was such a kind and gentle man. His love for his Lord was evident in everything he did.  A man of integrity, I am blessed to have known him. 

Please know that the family is in my prayers. I am so sorry that I will be out of town and unable to attend the service on Monday.  I would love to be at the celebration of his life.

For those of us at CCS who knew Dan-O, he will be remembered for his ability to make others laugh.  I had the pleasure of sitting around the lunch room table almost daily with Dano and others from the budget office, accounts payable, and travel.  We would eat our lunch together, talk, laugh, joke, and share stories.  Dano-O loved to make others laugh and he had an impressive collection of ties & socks for every occasion too! I left CCS almost 3 years ago but I will always have fond memories of sharing lunch and a conversation with Dan-O.

The good Lord must have needed Dan-O up above more than here down below.  You will be missed Dan-O!  My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time.

I was so saddened to hear of DanO passing. He was such an incredible spirit, his smile, sense of humor and good nature made it impossible to be in a bad mood. 
I will remember His expansive wardrobe, sock collection, and incredible costumes which always made him the life of the party. 
I will always remember his love of m&ms and outhouses! The year that I placed the inflatable outhouse in his office and his reaction was priceless! He brought joy to anyone he encountered. 
May God be with you all during this time of sorrow. Know that he was incredibly loved by many and will be missed.

Dear Peg and family of Dan-O Whye, I am thinking of and praying for you all.  Grieve fully and take the support offered to you as you remember the wonderful husband and relative who we at SFCC were blessed to have in our lives.  Well, he impacted not only our college but the entire district, and many of us will never forget when he would return from one of his mentor/tutor times with elementary students in one of his fun, creative, and joyful outfits.  He wonderfully gave to others.

We will not forget how he brought his positive attitude, huge smile, big laugh and voice to districtwide events plus to the often tough work atmosphere.  He was not all mirth as he worked diligently and seriously by giving us information to help us as we managed our budgets in order to provide the best educational/learning opportunities to students. 

 It was wonderful that he was recognized and put in the position to provide leadership for the annual African-American graduation.  His physical passing from this earth surely does not diminish who he was as a person and our memories.  And he also had more cute things and candy that matched his character, and he freely shared with others.  He was just in time Dan-O, and I know how he loved you folks.  So many would not be mourning with you had Dan not been such a fantastic individual with whom we had more memories than we can remember right now. 

 I will never forget when he did perform at the 2012 SFCC picnic (my last one), and naturally he had to do a little gig.  I kept and protected the Sponge Bob Square Pants drawers that he took off (they were over sweat pants) and threw to me.  What a send-off.  I kept them and finally passed them on a couple of years ago.  

He loved you dearly Peg, and he would share stories of the wonderful items you were making to share with others.  He was proud of his family and their endeavors. What a team you formed.  Remember that his impact was huge, and it was and is so positive.  

Dan, while you are gone you are definitely not forgotten.  We remember January 1980 when we first met in Lakewood, Wa. at McChord AFB.  We had a good time that night and while we were at McChord.  Then we lost touch until 1992 at Wright Patterson AFB.  We had more fun then and the children were older and ran together.  Bonnie was there while you were being packed out in 1997.  I can never forget our "Pentecostal Hugs" and you and Peg at Craig & Rosellen's wedding.  A lot of fun and fond memories.  God has blessed us with a great friendship and precious memories.  

Peg and family be assured you are prayed for daily.  May God's presence be with you at this time.

Dan, it was a pleasure getting to know you over the years. You loved your Lord, you loved your wife, and you loved your family and friends. You sir are loved and not forgotten. Thank you for leaving a legacy. 

I will always remember the jokes! Any time we would stop by “Poppa Whye” would entertain with his funny gags and practical jokes. I will think of him every time I see a poop emoji! 

He was also very loving and prayed such bold prayers for us! He made us feel like family!

AJ says he is so glad he got to see Poppa Whye at Comicon last June!

Dear Peggy and family:
We were shocked at hearing of Dan's passing.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you and the children as the entire family goes through this trying time.  Thinking of Dan, I go back to the first time I met him in December, 1994.  I had just returned from a 20 week school, and came back to work just in time for our office party.  I ran into Dan as he was changing clothes in preparation for his appearance as "Mr. Jingles" as part of the party entertainment.  I will never forget his costume.  Dan and I worked together for almost two years before he retired from the Air Force.  Those were good times.  He never failed to liven up the office, and always had a smile for everyone.  I know that Dan is now performing in Heaven as "Mr. Jingles" and making everyone laugh.
