

He was born to Frayne and Ethel McAtee on April 11, 1934 in Boise, Idaho and grew up in Spokane, Washington with his parents and his brother Laurence Albert (Bert). Frayne graduated High School from Gonzaga Preparatory and college from the University of Idaho.
After college, Frayne worked with his father and brother at the family business, McAtee and Heath, paving roads across the Inland Northwest. With job sites scattered between 4 states, Frayne had the opportunity to pursue his passion for piloting airplanes.
Frayne raised his family in Spokane with his first wife Marie. The family enjoyed summers at their cabin on Pend Oreille and winters skiing at Schweitzer. Frayne enjoyed time in the outdoors boating, riding motor cycles and golfing.
Frayne married his second wife Patti in 1982. Shortly after that, Frayne and Patti started their business, McAtee Homes, a residential construction company, and they continued building homes in the Spokane area until their retirement in 2002. Retired life found Frayne and Patti splitting time in the summer between their home in Rathdrum, ID and their place on Lake Pend Oreille. Winters were spent in Yuma, Arizona where Frayne enjoyed 4-wheeling in the desert with a group of friends.
Frayne is preceded in death by his wife Patti and is survived by his brother Bert, his children Frayne III, Bruce and Mark, step daughters Sherri Cummings and Laura Koepke and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
