Phyllis Fern (Ripley) Teichmer died on September 6, 2019, in Spokane, WA, at the age of 82. Phyllis was born on July 6, 1937, in Spokane to Wilbur K. Ripley and Dorothy A. (Bickford) Gregg. As a child, Phyllis was a talented gymnast. In adulthood she became an expert lap scorer with only pen and paper at the local stock car races, one of her most favorite pastimes. Later in life she was a bartender using her quick wit and humor to serve her customers. Phyllis met her husband James Teichmer in one of those bars and soon thereafter threw in the towel and retired. She is survived by her children Sharon L. (Mowrey) Firor of Spokane, Carol L. (Mowrey) Claypool of Aberdeen, WA, Benjamin W. (Mowrey) West of Tucson, AZ, Kimberly A. (Mercer) Johnson of Spokane, her brother Richard B. Ripley of Spokane, extended family members Emory E. (Ellis) Gilman of Troutdale, OR, Julie A. (Imholte) Lind of Tempe, AZ, and numerous grand and great grandchildren. No funeral services with burial at a later date.
